The Timeline

I stretched up and yawned. It was 9.55pm. Time to go to bed. Suddenly I remembered. I haven't submitted my post for Indiblogger Surf Excel Matic Contest yet. The topic was: If you had two extra hours in a day, how would you spend it? To submit my entry, I had to first experience it. So, I decided to sleep at 12pm. 

10pm: 

I got up from my bed and went to my PC. I switched it on briskly. After doing some quick thinking, I went to "My Documents". It was such a mess. Essays submitted during my school days, rough drafts for debates, articles sent to Nxg....a REAL mess. So, I deleted all the unwanted files. My goodness, the difference was startling. "My documents" looked good and clean. I opened my Facebook, Yahoo, and Gmail accounts and did the same thing-deleting all the "hi, hello, wassup", and "your password has been changed" kind of mails and threw them unceremoniously into the trash bin. 

10.30pm :

I went to the other room to see my Mom still awake. I looked at her in surprise. She generally goes to bed at 10pm sharp, but today, she was reading a magazine titled Puthiyathalamurai(meaning "New Generation") . Yeah, it is the weekly Tamil magazine which our family loves. So, I went and sat near her. She was struck up with the Tamil crossword puzzle. Some of the questions were tough. We racked our brains and finally found out the answers. We "hi5"ed each other and were full of laughter. My Mom then kissed my goodnight and headed to the bed. 

11pm :

I then went to my wardrobe and picked up my comb. I usually don't have the habit of combing my hair before I sleep. But today I decided to give it a try. I combed my hair slowly and gently. Who knows, it my prevent my hair from looking like a haystack in the morning!!! I then went and fetched my moisturizer and applied it on my skin. It has been hibernating in my wardrobe for so many months, so I decided that this winter season would be the best time to use it. I extracted copious amounts and used it generously. My skin felt nice and rejuvenated.

11.30pm :

I kept the comb and the moisturizer in my wardrobe. After that, I pulled out my old diary. It was a new year present from an uncle, who is my Dad's friend. The Diary lay forgotten in my wardrobe, after I had taken to Blogging. Of course, Blogs are irreplaceable and damn convenient. But your own diary, dear diary is something special(And incidentally, it was the subject of my maiden article published in Nxg). I missed writing my diary and and so wrote about the day, and how I had spent it. After I finished, I replaced it back in my wardrobe. 

12pm : 

My time's up!!!

So, this is how I spent my two extra hours. Thanks to Indiblogger and Surf Excel , I pampered my hair, spent time with my dear Mom and diary, and cleaned up the mess in my PC. I discovered that I could indeed do all the work I want, if I plan well and learn the art of Time Management.
